Temporary traffic lights as part of A9 dualling

- RACHEL AMERY

Temporary traffic lights will be in place near Bankfoot later this month as part of the dualling of the A9.

Transport Scotland will be placing the lights on the B867 and C408 from Monday, March 16 to make way for creating the new Hunters Lodge underbridge extension.

The lights will be in action between 7.30am and 6pm during the 22k and from 8am until 1pm on a Saturday.

The work is expected to last 10 weeks.

A spokesperson for Transport Scotland said:“Road users should be aware that temporary traffic signals will be in place on the B867 and C408 on approach to Bankfoot from Monday, March 16.

“To facilitate ongoing works for the new Hunters Lodge underbridge extension, a temporary plant crossing will be put in place on the C408 to safely transport material across the C408.

“This operation is expected to commence from Monday, March 16, for approximately 10 weeks.

“Traffic signals will be in operation from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.

“The traffic signals will be manually controlled to minimise disruption to traffic.

“In addition, two-way temporary traffic signals will be in place on the B867 for two days on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17, south of the access to Taste Perthshire.

“These works are weather dependent and may be postponed at short notice.

“Please approach the Bankfoot area with care, follow instructions given on the temporary signage and allow extra time for your journey.”
