Special messages on tree of tributes
A little tree in the centre of a Highland Perthshire town is becoming the focus of tributes for those who have lost their lives in the coronavirus.
On Wednesday, handwritten paper messages began appearing on the boughs of a tree in The Square, Aberfeldy.
The colourful tributes mark the passing of NHS nurses and staff across the UK, a local resident who is the first person known to the town not to have survived the illness and a number of relatives of Aberfeldy people from elsewhere who have tragically passed away in recent days.
The labels blow on the sapling’s bare branches, observed by the few who pass by through the deserted central space during the lockdown, imposed to prevent more deaths.
