A shipment of PPE was brought from China to Perthshire by local event organiser, David Fox-Pitt.

David - who has also been providing NHS workers with groceries and turning out pizza for kids in Dundee schools made use of trusted contacts in China to track down PPE and his friend Peregrine Moncreiffe of Ardtalnaig Estate sponsored the shipment’s passage to the UK.

David’s wife Jo, who remains at the family home by Loch Tay, explained:“So far we’ve taken delivery of 2000 masks, 100 eye protector goggles and 50 suits which have been offered and distributed by Aberfeldy paramedics to a number of local places where protection is vital.

“We’ve got PPE out to: Feldy-Roo, Aberfeldy Medical Practice, Aberfeldy Care Group (Jemma Dobson), Tayside Mountain Rescue, Erskdale care home Aberfeldy, Dalweem Care Home Aberfeldy, Pitlochry Hospital and Balhousie Care Home.

Jo added:“My husband is grateful for the offers of support for this and the pizza and grocery bag missions.

“He thanks the Ellis Campbell Foundation, Peregrine Moncreiffe, Fingask Castle, Blair Athol Mill for the flour for the pizzas and staff at Ardvreck School for making the dough, A&D Bar Services for lending the delivery van and many others who’ve supported financially through www. siobhanstrust.uk”
