A Royal Mail postal worker has shown her lighter side with a series of outlandish outfits designed to bring a smile in lockdown.

Laura Murphy has been spotted doing the Aberfeldy delivery route sporting a Hawaiian skirt, a big pink wig, a leopard-print disco onesie and pirate lass get-up.

It seems, as well as delivering the all-important mail, the kind-hearted postie felt like causing a funny diversion for people stuck indoors during the virus outbreak.

Aberfeldy mum and Laura’s friend Caroline Scott said: “She’s really brightened up our day. We never know what she’ll be dressed as, it’s given my young boys something to look forward to.

“She’s a real star.”

The police area commander covering Perth and Kinross is stepping down next week.

CI Ian Scott will retire from his role after 30 years of public service.

From next week he will be replaced by CI Graham Binnie.

A police spokesperson said: “CI Binnie has a wealth of experience in both response and community policing and comes to this role following a successful period working in the area of public protection.”
