New sponsorship deal for rugby kids
Promising young rugby players have scored a winner on all fronts through a new sponsorship agreement.
Proactive members of Auchterarder Parents Supporting Parents (APSP) recently signed up to be the sleeve sponsors of Perthshire Rugby’s mini section.
The decision means the Lang Toon-based club’s logo will be worn by scores of players across a variety of primary school-aged teams during matches and training sessions once play gets back under way when coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
APSP co-founder Karen McNeill’s son Bryn Turner plays for Perthshire’s P5 team and the sponsorship move was made, in part, because of the support he has been given by the club’s coaches.
The nine-year-old youngster is on the autistic spectrum and Karen said the inclusive environment fostered within the Fair City side’s ranks has helped Bryn progress and develop a love for the sport.
In addition, the link-up mean s the proactive group can get across its message that its series of wellattended meetings and workshops are for everyone, whether they are from the area or not.
Carol Ann Rose, head of Perthshire Rugby’s mini section, said: “Auchterarder Parents Supporting Parents is a fantastic parent-led group to assist parents support the emotional health and wellbeing of their children.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to showcase its important work on our minis’ match strip sleeve.”
