St Johnstone will take time in appointing Tommy’s successor
The Northern Irishman left supporters shocked and saddened when he called time on his joyous seven-year Perth reign - which included a famous Scottish Cup victory - last Saturday morning.
The hunt is now on for a new boss and, while interest in the position has already been high, fans should not expect a speedy process.
Scottish football is currently on hold amid the coronavirus outbreak and Saints will be taking their time to make sure they get the appointment right.
head of football operations Kirsten Robertson said:“There is no need for this to be a speedy process as we require clarity on the situation surrounding COVID-19 and its impact on football. It’s essential we take time to assess and consider all applications with due care and diligence.”
