Saints donation will help struggling families

-

St Johnstone pitched in to donate food and drink from McDiarmid Park’s kiosks to help Perth and Kinross Council in the coronavirus fight.

The local authority will be using the stock to create their family food packs while also dishing out supplies to foodbanks.

Two representatives from Perth and Kinross Council - assisted by helpful Saints midfielder Murray Davidson - filled vans with the stock while maintaining social distancing.

Saints’servery manager, Adam Omeish, was happy to help and said: “With no football on the horizon for the foreseeable future, we had a number of food and drink items stocked in our kiosks which will no longer be in date by the time we are able to welcome supporters back to the stadium.

“We thought that it would be best to donate the items to local foodbank causes to help families and people struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It was great to have Murray along helping and hopefully it goes a long way to helping people at this difficult time.”
