Blairgowrie Library set to reopen
Blairgowrie Library will become the latest in the region to reopen this week.
Culture Perth and Kinross is bringing back its services in phases after being given the green light by the Scottish Government.
After AK Bell Library opened on Saturday, Blairgowrie will follow suit this Saturday, July 25.
The library will initially reopen for lending services enabling residents to return and borrow books, although customers will be able to collect books from the new Click and Collect service which was launched last week.
There will be new operating hours, 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Saturday.
Lunchtime closures during the new opening hours will enable the library to maintain a rigorous cleaning regime, ensuring the facility is a safe place to visit.
In addition, some other changes have been put in place including limits on the numbers of people coming into the building at any one time, social distancing guidance and the introduction of hand sanitising units.
Customers are required to wear a mask for their visit and will be asked to leave their contact details for Trace and Protect purposes.
Culture Perth and Kinross libraries will continue phasing in further library services, including a return of computer access over the coming weeks.
Since July 15, library members have been able to access the new Click and Collect service for library books from AK Bell Library.
The innovative new contact-free service has enabled library members to choose and reserve books from Culture Perth and Kinross libraries online catalogue.
