Homes scoop award
A new neighbourhood in Perth designed by Glasgow-based architects Anderson, Bell and Christie for the Gannochy Trust won the large residential category at the Glasgow Institute of Architects Awards 2020 last week.
The new 48-home development, which was built by Campion Homes, also received a separate accolade for sustainability during last week’s awards, which were held virtually because of restrictions on gatherings due to the coronavirus.
David Gray, chairman of the Gannochy Trust, remarked:“We were delighted to win at the GIA awards on Friday. The success of the project is down to the vision of all our partners who understood the needs of our tenants and the legacy of our founder A K Bell, whose passion for providing healthy, affordable homes for the community of Perth lives on in the new development.
“We thank all our partners for making this development happen. This award is in recognition for their hard work and ingenuity.”
Stephen Lamb, director of Anderson, Bell and Christie, added:“We are delighted to receive the GIA awards for the large residential and sustainability categories. This success is a result of the hard work of a large team of consultants and contractors, and on behalf of them all I express our gratitude.“
