Award so close
Pitlochry Station Bookshop narrowly missed out on an award from a railway heritage trust.
The Pitlochry salt store - converted to become home to the bookshop on the platform of Pitlochry Station was one of three locations shortlisted for the BAM Nuttall Partnership Award.
The National Railway Heritage awards are the only awards body dedicated to encouraging and rewarding best practice in the restoration and continued upkeep of the UK’s rich heritage of railway and tramway buildings and structures.
The ceremony was held online on December 2 and the good work in Perthshire that went into creating the popular secondhand bookshop was unfortunately beaten by Harlow Town Station’s renovation of its historic fascias.
