Accused of assault with bottle
A Perth man has appeared in private at the sheriff court, charged with attacking another man with a bottle and a knife during an early-morning disturbance at a city centre hotel.
The alleged victim, Michael Carle, is said to have been seriously injured, passing out during the violent incident at the New County Hotel last month.
Euan Boyes, of Glenshee Crescent, made no plea and his case was continued for further inquiries.
Represented by local lawyer Paul Ralph, he was freed on bail following a brief appearance before Sheriff Neil Bowie.
It is alleged that on November 17, 2020, in a room at the County Place hotel, while acting with two others, he assaulted Mr Carle (29) by repeatedly punching him on the head and body.
It is then claimed that Boyes (27) struck him on the head with a glass bottle, repeatedly kicked him on the body, repeatedly slapped him on the head and struck him on the body with the blade, rendering him unconscious, all to his“severe injury.”
He is said to have been subject to an October 24, 2019, bail order from the Perth court at the time.
