Hard one to take

-

The start of the season has not gone to plan.

But Scone Thistle’s Willie Laing is sure they can get back on the winning trail soon.

The Jags went down 3-0 against Kirriemuir Thistle in the Premiership North on Saturday and have now lost their opening three fixtures.

Laing said:“Saturday’s result was disappointing and hard to take.

“The team worked hard yet again, pressing and playing good football but again mistakes and decision making cost us.

“Stand outs again for us have been Rory Lamond and Gary McCallum.”

Scone are going through somewhat of a transitional period having lost a large chunk of their squad for this season.

“This year has seen a massive change to the team, with boys moving on and some retiring,”Laing added. “We have and are building for the next few seasons. As such, we have a youthful team this year.

“The start of the season has not gone as planned with points dropped in the last few games.

“But we have a great squad of players with good hungry attitudes and a willingness to learn.”
