Hotel chiefs share expansion proposals with public
The owners of one of the Perthshire’s finest golf resorts have started a public consultation over plans to add dozens of rooms for guests and create a range of new leisure facilities.
Stellar Asset Management estimates it’s already spent £2.5 million upgrading Murrayshall Country House Hotel and Golf Club since it acquired the resort four years ago and says it’s now ready to invest millions more on further improvements.
Architects working for the company are currently putting together a planning application requesting permission to double the number of rooms the resort has from 40 to 80 and develop an outdoor pursuits area, a golf academy, an indoor games room and more.
Perth-based architects Fergus Purdie is aiming to submit the application to
Perth and Kinross Council early next year and started a public consultation concerning all of the above proposals through its website last week.
Their website says:“We are inviting the local community and other stakeholders to review our emerging proposals before a planning application is submitted to Perth and Kinross Council. We would very much welcome your feedback and comments.”
A live consultation event is also scheduled to take place this Friday during which the project team will be available to discuss the proposals with interested parties via telephone, email and pre-booked one-on-one zoom meeting slots.
Jonathan Gain, chief executive of Stellar Asset Management, commented:“We are pleased to be able to share our development plans with the local community and are confident that they will share our vision for this next stage of the evolution of Murrayshall.
“The improved facilities will not only benefit the existing members and hotel guests but will also provide hundreds of employment opportunities for local people, as well as a high-quality leisure facility to use, right on their doorstep; not to mention a much-needed boost to local tourism in these challenging times.
“Our plans will ensure that Murrayshall will soon have the facilities to match the high standards of our golf course and I have no doubt that it will become one of Scotland’s finest countryside leisure destinations.”
