I want to wish all Perthshire Advertiser readers all the best for the festive season and I sincerely hope that 2021 will be a more positive year for us all.

2020 has been like no year in my living memory and it has produced challenges that we could never have contemplated previously.

The festive season will look very different for most of us this year, and in the interests of keeping everyone safe, this is quite rightly the case. This dreadful virus does not care whether it is Christmas Day or not and I know that many of us have opted to have a ‘digital Christmas’this year.

I want to thank all constituents who have made substantial changes to the way that they live their lives and for continuing to follow guidance to keep us all safe.

This year has been tough for us all and it is my sincerest hope that as the vaccination programme rolls out in 2021, that we can start returning to something that greater resembles normality.

Finally, I wish to thank all the community groups who have contributed to providing important support to vulnerable constituents across Perth and Kinross this year.
