Mandenies catalogueof drivecharges
A Perthshire man has denied a catalogue of motoring charges, including failing to co-operate with drink and drug tests, and then assaulting two police officers.
Forty-three year-old Geoffrey Williamson, of Mart Street, Alyth, will face trial at Perth Sheriff Court on July 12 next year.
An earlier hearing was scheduled for June 17.
It is alleged that on November 4, 2020, on Glebeway, Meigle, he drove a van while unfit through drink or drugs – and then failed to co-operate with preliminary tests for them.
It is also claimed that he used the vehicle without a test certificate; challenged police to fight at a house in Glebeway and threatened to cause damage to a police vehicle; and failed to provide a blood specimen at Dundee police headquarters.
Williamson is then said to have punched PC Ross Butler on the head, kicked him on the body, to his injury, and resisted arrest at the property.
An eighth charge alleges that he attempted to kick PC Russell Duffy on the body at the Dundee hospital the same day.
