Kind gift to service from Soroptimists
Soroptimist members in Perth donated a huge supply of toiletries and either made or bought toiletry bags for clients of the Perth and Kinross Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (RASAC).
President Jean Black recently handed over 19 filled bags along with additional toiletries.
RASAC has been operating for 10 years, and has developed from an attic space run by a few dedicated volunteers to its current centre with 13 members of staff and many wonderful volunteers.
An RASC spokesperson said:“We are committed to challenging gender-based violence and recognise that sexual violence is both a cause and consequence of gender inequality in our society.
“We offer free and confidential support to anyone who identifies as a woman aged 12+ years and boys 12-18 years who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives.
“We offer support regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, transgender identity, age, disability, and religious and cultural background.”
