Drugs foundin cityflat
Police seized hundreds of pounds-worth of cannabis when they raided a long-term Perth drug abuser’s flat.
Now, a background report is to be prepared on serial offender Alexander Fairlie to see if he can be given help.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that officers obtained a search warrant for his home at Croft Bank.
They recovered 27.8 grammes of the class B drug, worth an estimated £278.
He admitted having the drug in his possession on December 3, 2019.
Lawyer Pauline Cullerton said the cannabis was for his personal use.
He was self-employed and operated a vehicle recovery business.
Sheriff Gillian Wade observed:“His record suggests this has been an ongoing issue for a number of years.
“Given the repeat nature of the offences, I’m wondering whether intervention is required.”
She deferred sentence until January 27 and called for a background report to give“the widest possible range of sentences”.
She added:“Another fine will not address your underlying problems and won’t prevent you coming back to court.”
