Man charged with stealing till in break in
A Perth man has made a second appearance in private at the sheriff court, charged with breaking into a popular city centre coffee shop and restaurant and stealing a till - and £150.
Forty-two-year-old William Thomas Gillilan, of the Skinnergate Resettlement Unit, was fully committed for trial and was again remanded in custody.
Represented by local lawyer David Holmes, he appeared on a total of five charges.
It is alleged that on December 15, 2020, he broke into Willows, St John’s Place, and stole the cash.
It is also claimed that the same day, at the parking area at the rear of the Kirkside Bar, he forced open two cars and stole a quantity of tools and a pair of sunglasses.
A further charge states that he used a screwdriver on the glass door of the nearby Olive Tree takeaway in St John Street and attempted to break into the building with intent to steal.
The fifth charge alleges that on December 16, at George Inn Lane, Perth, he used the screwdriver, or similar implement, to break into another car with intent to steal.
