Kinnoull up for it

-

Kinnoull manager Alan Cameron reckons Luncarty will head into the Perthshire derby as favourites.

But he is certain his side can stand up to the challenge in what, if the game beats the weather, will be an exciting afternoon of football.

Recent snow and heavy frost put the first meeting between the teams this season in doubt.

Cameron has his squad set regardless and said: “Luncarty are a form team and have only lost once.

“They have been flying in cup and league games. Going by league position, they will obviously be favourites.

“But I’d like to think if we play the way we can, we’ll give them a game.

“They have experience all over the park and boys who have stepped down a level from Jeanfield.

“There is experience and know-how to get over the line in games. They do also have youth, so it’s a good blend.

“But there are a number of teams capable of beating each other. It’s sometimes whoever turns up on the day. It’s a game where you would’ve got a few folk down to watch.”

Kinnoull played a friendly against Blairgowrie earlier in the week to get minutes in legs.

Cameron added: “The only injury worries we have are Kyle Woolley and Dale Smart.

“I think they will both miss out, alongside Darren Spence. He is out longer term.”

The game was scheduled to take place on Saturday, kick-off 2pm.
