Man(29)facing knifecharge

-

A 29-year-old man has been charged with behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in Coupar Angus while brandishing a blade.

Kieran Fletcher, of Murray’s Court, Hay Street, Coupar Angus, made no plea while appearing in private before Sheriff William Wood this week on two charges.

Represented by Perth lawyer Pauline Cullerton, he was freed on bail and his case was continued for further inquiries.

It is alleged that on December 30, 2020, at Murray’s Court, he shouted and swore and acted in an aggressive manner while wielding the knife.

It is then claimed that he repeatedly struck a car with the knife while Scott Anderson was in the vehicle.

A second charge alleges that he had an offensive weapon in his possession at the time.
