Kids’ book of lockdown tales
Pupils at a Perthshire primary school have helped create a new book recording their thoughts on lockdown and nature.
‘Our Lockdown Book’has been created by students at the Royal School of Dunkeld.
Released last month, it is hoped the book will raise money for the Parish of Dunkeld, which has been badly hit by COVID-19 restrictions.
Author Molly Arbuthnott has been helping the kids out.
She explained:“It’s basically a collection of the children’s lockdown experiences and their experience of nature around them.
“It is filled with poems, pictures, drawings and stories - so a bit of everything really.
“We were trying to make something positive out of the lockdown and our experiences, and also because the church has been hit quite hard by the lockdown.
“I think with lockdown people have appreciated the nature around us a lot more, and that wouldn’t have happened if we had not been locked down.”
Molly is a former primary turned children’s author and will be selling the book through her own website.
She added:“It really is a collaborative piece that everyone involved has put their heart and soul into.”
The book, which also features a story by Fraser Penny, the minister of Dunkeld Cathedral, is priced at £7.99 and is available from the website www. mollyarbuthnott.co.uk
