Pupils’ success at international computer event
Perth High School computing students participated in the international Bebras Computational Thinking Challenge.
The Bebras competition, supported by Oxford University and Raspberry Pi Foundation, is an international initiative aiming to promote informatics and computational thinking among school students at all ages.
Almost all of the S1, S2 and S3 computing classes at Perth High were able to take part.
Many Perth High computing students received merit and distinction awards.
And eight students scored so highly within the top 10 per cent across the whole of the UK - that they received a gold award and are eligible to participate in the University of Oxford Computing Challenge in 2021.
Among the students who took part was Sathkruthi in S2 (pictured centre) who achieved a‘best in school’award.
She said:“The Bebras is a really fun competition.
“I learned a lot and would recommend it to anyone who might want to take part next year.”
