Special bail conditions for assault accused

-

Two special bail conditions were imposed on a man when he appeared at Perth Sheriff Court this week on a charge of acting in an aggressive manner towards his ex-partner - and placing her, and others, in a “state of fear and alarm.”

Forty-three-year-old Douglas Brown, of Leadflower Court, Crieff, is also accused of assaulting her in a flat in the town and being in possession of a Class A drug.

He will return to court for trial on April 6, with an earlier hearing scheduled for March 18.

Sheriff William Wood granted him bail but he has been banned from approaching or contacting his ex and from entering Beattie Gardens in Crieff meantime.

It is alleged that on January 3, at Beattie Gardens, he behaved in an aggressive or abusive manner, demanded entry to his former partner’s home and then struck a window, causing damage.

He is then said to have entered the property via the damaged window, shouted, sworn and frightened the female and others who were there at the time.

Brown also denied repeatedly pushing the woman on the body and, at Leadenflower Road, having heroin in his possession.

He was represented by local lawyer David Holmes.
