Mental health charity gets a boost

- ROBBIE CHALMERS

Perth mental health charity Mindspace received a festive donation from local company Hainey and Stronach Contractors Ltd.

Over the past two years the company decided to pick a charity or cause to donate money to at Christmas time instead of handing out bottles to site agents on all our sites.

Last year its was a local primary school to make sure all kids had presents for Christmas.

“This year we have chosen Mindspace as we all know men’s mental health is in the spotlight more and more as we don’t like to talk about things and try to just carry on and hope for the best, but there are more and more male suicides across Scotland due to mental health and not being able to or feeling comfortable to ask for help.

“At this time the rural area was struggling for funding to keep on helping people with their mental health.

“We hope that this money can help Mindspace help a few others in the rural area of

Strathearn with their mental health.

“Keep up the good work helping others.”

In response, a Mindspace spokesperson said:“Like many charities, Mindspace’s fundraising activities have been severely curtailed during this difficult year.

“Therefore, we are delighted and extremely grateful to Bob and Lee from Hainey and Stronach Contractors for their generous donation.

“We are proud to have been able to continue providing much needed mental health services throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and this donation will help us to continue to support the people of Perth and Kinross.”
