Waiting game

-

Luncarty manager Robbie Holden says it is a case of taking everything day by day at present.

Tighter coronavirus restrictions came into play earlier this week, throwing up a question about whether the East of Scotland League season would be continuing.

On Thursday, when the PA went to print, Holden was still seeking clarity on what the plan is moving forward.

“We’re going week to week, night to night at the moment hoping we are able to train, the weather holds and a facility is available,”he said.

“You are almost down to one available facility in Perth for all the teams at the moment. That has been really challenging.

“We’ve spent money putting protocols in place. It’s one of the only things people can look forward to in these difficult times if you are a football person.”

The Bleachers warmed up earlier this week with a fitness session down the Inch due to the closure of their usual training facility at Bertha Park.

They were scheduled to travel to Newburgh this Saturday but Holden revealed the away pitch is frozen and the game is already off.

Kinnoull, meanwhile, who sit fourth in the Conference B standings after a solid start, were planning to welcome Oakley United to Tulloch Park this weekend.

But the likelihood is that the Perth pitch will also not pass an inspection in the lead-up to Saturday.
