GLENCARSE

-

On Sunday, December 20 at their Christmas Tree Giving Service, the congregation launched an appeal for the charity, Hands Up Foundation.

This small, young and innovative charity funds health and education programmes in Syria. Its aim is to make a positive difference to Syrians in need, working directly with local organisations who know the needs and context of their local communities better than anyone.

The rector Canon Ian Young said: “Between December 20 and Christmas Day, we raised the magnificent sum of £1539.50 to help the charity’s work in wartorn Syria. One of our members, Hamish Macdonald Lockhart, suggested to me Hands Up Foundation as a worthwhile project and so it has proved to be a most successful fundraising event for us.”
