Kane on partnershi­p with Melamed

Chris Kane hopes to strike a lethal partnershi­p with Guy Melamed after a promising display at Tannadice during the week.

The Perth pair dove-tailed well in attack and were both on the scoresheet in the 2-2 Premiershi­p draw with Dundee United.

Kane put Saints in front with a clever glancing header after Melamed had earlier nodded in from close range.

“The more you play with someone, the more you understand them,” said Kane.

“I felt like that with Steven MacLean and Stevie May as well.

“If me and Guy get a wee run together, we’ll only understand each other’s games more. “I enjoyed playing with him. “He is starting to learn our game and how we play a lot more. He is understand­ing when to press and when, if I’m going, he needs to sit in.”

Kane revealed he was delighted to see Melamed get on the scoresheet.
