Two men have been accused of attacking a customer in a Perth city centre bar - and scarring him for life.

Dean Calder (31), of Hermitage Drive, Perth, and 32-year-old Darryn Calder, of Rorrie Terrace, Methven, were to have faced trial at Dundee Sheriff Court at a jury sitting beginning on February 8.

But depute fiscal Charmaine Gilmartin asked that it be delayed until February 22 when the indictment was called at Perth Sheriff Court.

It is alleged that on January 27, 2018, at Dickens, South Street, they both assaulted Stuart Whyte by repeatedly punching and kicking him on the head and body, to his injury and permanent disfigurement.

Dean Calder also faces a second charge of repeatedly punching Scott Whyte on the head in the Perth pub the same day.

Lawyer David Holmes said the case “could resolve” and it was agreed that a further pre-trial hearing be held on January 21.

Both men had their bail continued meantime.
