Actor pal McCredie hopes for city centre tribute

Colin said there should be a tribute in Perth to the comic writer and actor, and suggested a statue in South Street.

He even said Perth and Kinross Council could rename one of the city’s many vennels after him.

Colin said: “Andy was such a wellloved figure around Perth. I hope he can have his name up in the Perth Theatre bar or have a statue in the centre - it would be very fitting.

“There should be a memorial, a statue I think and if I had to choose, I’d stick it up in South Street, right opposite Murrays Pies.

“Andy would like that, he was a big fan.”
