“Andy and Charlie starred together in the hilarious Perth in the Buff comedy sketches and have know each other since their school days.”

Charlie commented:“Andy was always a most welcome visitor to McDiarmid Park.

“As a Perth boy, he never forgot his Fair City roots and he always followed the fortunes of the club in spite of his heavy work schedule.

“He was brilliant company hilariously funny - dynamite on stage and a riot off. He will be missed terribly by us all.”

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was also among those to pay tribute, saying:“So sad to hear this. Andy was a legend of the Scottish acting community, from City Lights, to panto, River City and so much more besides.”
