Catalogue of teen theft charges
A 24-year-old man has denied stealing a mountain bike and a mobile phone from two 14-year-olds at different locations in Perth.
Adrian Oliveira also faced a third charge of demanding £20 from one of the youngsters in return for the phone, insisting that she meet him alone - and then telling her he would bring a knife with him.
He will face trial at Perth Sheriff Court on August 23, with an earlier hearing scheduled for August 5.
He was freed on bail but several special conditions have been imposed.
He has been banned from Perth, unless attending pre-arranged court appearances or taking part in an identity parade, given 72 hours notice.
Oliveira, of Strathmore Place, Montrose, has also been barred from approaching or contacting any of the youngsters.
He is alleged to have stolen the bike from a 14-year-old boy in Perth’s Dunkeld Road on November 28, 2020.
It is further claimed that the same day, at the city’s South Inch, he stole the mobile from the 14-year-old girl.
A third charge alleges that he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards the female during a telephone call demanding cash for the return of the phone.
Oliveira is also accused of demanding that the girl meet him on her own, threatening her with violence and stating that he would bring a blade with him.
The accused was represented by Perth lawyer David Holmes before Sheriff Neil Bowie.
