Boss Keira is guest of business forum

-

A well-known figure within the Perthshire business community is to deliver a presentation at an enterprise support organisation’s first online meeting of 2021.

Keira Proctor, managing director of Blairgowriebased A Proctor Group Ltd, will be the speaker at the latest‘XChange’event organised by GrowBiz.

The online session takes place from 6-8pm on Wednesday this week.

Keira joined the board of the family-owned construction materials company in 2009 when her father Allan Proctor began undergoing treatment for cancer.

In 2012, Allan was unable to continue to run the firm, at which point he asked Keira to take on the role of managing director.

Aged 29 at the time, the move saw Keira take responsibility for a group with a turnover of around 20 million and 125 staff nationwide.

The business today has doubled in turnover, branched out into various different market sectors – such as rail and oil and gas – and formed customer partnerships in the likes of North America, Australia and the Middle East.

Like most businesses, COVID-19 has thrown up challenges for Proctor’s, and Keira will discuss how the company has developed and coped with the pandemic.

GrowBiz CEO, Jackie Brierton, said:“It’s more important than ever for enterprise owners and the self-employed to get together and share stories, ideas and experiences as we all continue to adjust to the ongoing business challenges.”
