Three young Perthshire dancers have been braving the freezing temperatures to inspire others to keep dancing throughout lockdown.

The Bloice sisters from Balgowan – Ella (6), Lily (9) and Chloe (11) – are big fans of the performing arts and recently took a notion to showcase their moves with a spontaneous outdoor photo shoot.

“They thought that the place they lived looked so stunning and picturesque that they could create some amazing pictures,” explained mum Susie, who took the snaps. “My three girls are definitely hardy Scots. In freezing temperatures and bare feet, they braved the elements to get stunning pictures in the Strathearn countryside.

“My girls are thinking out of the box at the moment to keep dancing and active in a second lockdown. They live for dance and their friends, and it’s hit them hard.

“The girls follow a photographer on Instagram who predominantly photographs dancer.

“He does these 10-minute photo shoots with them; they pick a location and he takes these amazing dance pics. With being in lockdown and not being around people, the girls were a bit bored.

“They are getting great dance classes with all their teachers on Zoom, which is brilliant, and I can’t thank them enough for that, but the girls wanted to get out of the house and find somewhere they could do random pictures, so I drove them around. They picked their spots and jumped out the car in their bare feet and did it.”

Susie praised her daughters’ dance teachers.

She continued: “The dance teachers have been amazing with Zoom, and the kids have adapted well.

“They have Chanelle Wilson of MPD, who has been offering lots of classes – even when heavily pregnant, Robyn Goodfellow of RG Dance, and Crieff ballet teacher Trisha Meenaghan Wackrow.

“They are so inspirational for the kids.

“The performing arts are really struggling, but they are doing their best to keep all the young dancers’ spirits up.”

The youngest of the trio Ella specialises in lyrical dance through MPD – a cross between ballet and gymnastics – and is currently second in the world rankings for those under eight years of age.

Middle sister Lily enjoys street dance with RG Dance, and Chloe, who was a finalist in Strathearn’s Got Talent in the summer, is a fan of all genres but particularly musical theatre and ballet.

Susie added: “They specialise but they all enjoy every genre.

“As a family we want to keep the dancers dancing and the arts in Perthshire alive.”
