Free post for charity donations

-

With non-essential stores still closed, one network of charity shops is appealing to the public to keep giving donations, but to use a free postage service to do it.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has asked the public to donate the fruit of lockdown cupboard clear-outs and their discarded Christmas presents by post and to support its shops via online platforms to help fund vital heart research.

The COVID-19 crisis has had a devastating impact on the BHF’s income, cutting its research funding in half and putting future life-saving discoveries at risk.

Anyone continuing a post-Christmas declutter or wishing to regift any unwanted presents - everything from good quality clothes, shoes, handbags and jewellery to DVDs, CDs, books and children’s toys - can simply donate items using BHF’s freepost donation service.

A spokesperson said:“Without your generous donations, we can’t fund life saving breakthroughs for the 7.4 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases.

“You can post smaller items such as branded clothing, jewellery, vinyl records and cameras by downloading a freepost label from the BHF website and heading to your nearest collect and drop-off point with your package, as part of your essential shopping trip.”
