Event to support industry
Circular Tayside, which is funded by Zero Waste Scotland and delivered through Perthshire Chamber of Commerce and Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce, is delivering an event on circular construction.
With a government focus on being net zero by 2045, the highly emitting construction sector will be amongst the first to be targeted for CO2 reductions, which has translated in the plans for the innovative Perth West project.
Construction companies and their suppliers that practice circularity will be highly sought after by private and public clients in the years to come and have a distinct competitive advantage.
To support and prepare the local construction supply chain, Circular Tayside has organized a free event where participants will learn innovative circular construction practices, will hear about the exciting materials flow mapping of Perth and Kinross Council, will get a first hand example of an innovative circular pallet company, and find out about the funding and business support available in Tayside to become part of the linear-to-circular movement.
Circular Tayside manager Vaso Makri said:“The transition from linear to circular is in line with the government’s net zero ambitions, and it is moving fast.
“With construction being one of the highest emitting sectors, it will be among the first to be targeted for CO2 reductions for private and public clients.
“There is a lot of business support and grant funding available from Zero Waste Scotland for innovative circular products and projects to help Scottish SMEs become pioneers in this transition.”
