Right Track scheme for window vandal

-

A young Perth man who kicked a warning sign, breaking a window at a local McDonald’s, has been put on the Right Track scheme.

Twenty-year-old Jordan McLean, of Union Street, will have his progress reviewed on May 19.

The accused, who had been released from a spell in custody last year, admitted the incident which took place at the Dunkeld Road outlet of the fast food chain on August 19, 2018.

Solicitor Billy Somerville said he had watched CCTV footage of that incident and submitted there had been“no deliberate intention”on his client’s part to crack the window.

The lawyer added:“He’s been provisionally accepted for the Army but all outstanding matters will have to be dealt with.”

Noting that a previous Community Payback Order had been breached,

Sheriff Gillian Wade warned him it was his“last chance”. She added:“You must show utter commitment to this.

“If not, it’s very unlikely the Army will be particularly interested in you”

An updated background report has been requested for McLean’s next court appearance.
