A walk in the park for energetic dogs

- MELANIE BONN

A private exercise field for Perthshire dogs to run around worry-free is ready to welcome its first customers.

Airntully Dog Park near Stanley has been created by Michelle Mitchell after she began feeling it would be an attractive offer for many owners if she created a secure place to walk and play without encountering other dogs.

Michelle and her dogs had experienced many unwelcome confrontations with other pets when out for walks and it had left her feeling nervous about what could happen. She hit on the idea of offering a place close to home where she could offer a private, fenced-in dog space which could be booked and paid for online.

The Facebook page Airntully Dog Park - recently posted the news many people had been waiting for:“Very soon our new dog park will be open, we hope that it’s a place that you will enjoy using and will be a place you and your dogs can relax and exercise without distraction.”

The park offers parking, a hot dog shower, keypad entry and hand sanitiser. With COVID restrictions the private facility is only for use for people from within the county of Perth and Kinross.
