Inmate denies having mobile phone in prison
A Perth Prison inmate has denied having a mobile phone in his possession - and making violent telephone threats to his ex-partner and her father.
Twenty-eight-year-old Kevin Hogg had his case continued at Perth Sheriff Court until February 18 to enable the defence to prepare for trial.
It is alleged that between April 4 and September 1, 2020, at Perth’s Edinburgh Road jail, he had the banned item.
A second charge claims that on April 4, 2020, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner towards his former girlfriend’s dad via a telephone call and SMS messages, and adopted an abusive demeanour and uttered violent threats.
He is further accused of repeatedly adopting an aggressive demeanour towards his former partner on a number of occasions between May 1 and September 1, 2020, during a series of telephone calls and SMS messages.
He is said to have sworn at her and made violent threats.
Hogg’s trial is set to take place on March 2.
