-

A pensioner, convicted of sexually assaulting a woman at a Perth hotel by repeatedly pressing his groin against her buttocks, had his name added to the Sex Offenders’Register for a year this week.

Sixty-six-year-old Bernard Munro, a former taxi boss, also had a Community Payback Order imposed when he appeared for sentence at Perth Sheriff Court.

He will also be supervised for a year and will have to complete 60 hours of unpaid work.

Munro, of Angus Road, Scone, was found guilty after trial of an amended charge of sexually assaulting the female at the Lovat Hotel, in Perth’s Glasgow Road, on February 7, 2020.

He repeatedly held her by the waist and repeatedly pressed his groin against her.
