This monstrosity (right) appeared in Milnathort High Street just before Christmas.

Apparently no prior notice was given or advice on where to site it was sought locally by PKC. It has been fixed near a pedestrian crossing and is totally out of keeping with the existing village street furniture.

Its use, apparently, is for bicycles but you cannot use it as it is too close to the road edge.

Some local wag has even made some toast for it.

We do not have a bike parking problem. However, if we must have a rack, a two-bike rack would have been more suitable.

It could also be sited opposite at the village hall entrance where any visiting bikes tend to be locked.
