Man(35) accused ofarmed robbery incourt
A Perth man appeared in private at the sheriff court last week, accused of an armed robbery at a city supermarket near his home.
Thirty-five-year-old David Edevane, of St Catherine’s Road, made no plea and his case was continued for further inquiries.
Represented by local lawyer David Holmes, he was freed on bail, with a special condition banning him from the Aldi store in Glasgow Road.
It is alleged that on February 4, 2021, at Aldi, he assaulted a store employee and threatened him with violence by presenting a knife at him. He is then said to have demanded money from the staff member, forced him to open his till and robbed him of £172.
A second charge alleges that Edevane had an offensive weapon in his possession the blade.
The brief court appearance took place before Sheriff Neil Bowie.
