Man in court on wife murder charge
A 46-year-old man made a brief appearance in private at Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday afternoon charged with murdering his wife three days earlier.
John Lizanec, of Orchard Way, Inchture, made no plea and his case was continued for further inquiries.
It is alleged that on February 13, at his home, he assaulted 44-year-old Michelle Lizanec by striking her on the neck with a knife, or similar instrument, and murdering her.
Represented by Perth lawyer David Holmes, no motion was made for bail and he was remanded in custody by Sheriff Gillian Wade pending a further court hearing next week.
People took to social media to pay tribute to 44-year-old Michelle, who lived in Scone.
One wrote: “So so sad ... Rest in Peace gorgeous girl ... thoughts are with your family at this very sad time.”
Another said: “Thoughts are with the family. So sad she was a lovely woman.”
