Accused of attack on ex

A Perth man will face trial before a jury at the sheriff court next month, charged with attacking his ex-partner by grabbing her by the throat and endangering her life after she is said to have lost consciousness.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at 43-year-old Callum MacDonald’s home in St Andrews Street on April 6, 2019.

It is claimed that he seized her by the throat, dragged her to the floor and struck her head against the ground.

He is then said to have restricted her breathing, causing her to lose consciousness, and repeatedly struck her on the face, to her injury and danger of her life.

The trial will take place during the week beginning March 22.

A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for March 11.
