A Perth man has denied striking another man on the head with a glass - and scarring him for life.

But lawyer Linda Clark told Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday she was ‘confident’the matter would be resolved without the need for a trial before a jury.

The indictment against 22-year-old Kyle Allan, of Firbank Road, alleges that on October 13, 2019, at a house in Perth’s Riggs Road, he struck Kyle Broomfield with the glass, knocking him to the ground.

Allan is then said to have pinned him to the ground and repeatedly punched him on the head, to his injury and permanent disfigurement.

The case was continued to a further hearing on March 11 and the accused has been ordered to appear personally then.
