Patient John’s choc full of thanks for care

-

Staff from wards three and four at Perth Royal Infirmary were each treated to a box of chocolates from patient John Wackett to say thank you for looking after him.

John, who is originally from Lincolnshire, moved to Aberfeldy in the 70s with his family to take up the role of manager at Fisher’s Laundry. He has lived in Aberfeldy ever since.

John’s granddaughter Eilidh said:“My granddad wanted to thank the wonderful staff at PRI who have looked after him and his late wife Dorothy over the years.

“He remembers the time before the NHS when it was much harder to get medical care and he really appreciates all the work done by our NHS staff.

“The staff on wards three and four have looked after him during his most recent stay in hospital at a time where family visits haven’t been possible.

“So the chocolates are a big thank you to all staff on these wards. He is particularly fond of Cadbury Roses and will always have these at Christmas. On behalf of my family, we would like to say a big thank you for looking after our granddad.”

Senior nurse Rachel Hunt said:“Staff from wards three and four are delighted with John’s unexpected and generous donation. Thank you very much for the chocolate – what a treat.”
