Coronavirus spitting charge denied
A man has denied spitting in his partner’s face - and then claiming he had coronavirus.
Thirty-six-year-old Thomas Stewart is also accused of shouting and swearing and making derogatory comments to the female - and flouting a bail order aimed at keeping them apart.
He will face trial before a jury at Perth Sheriff Court during the week beginning March 29.
The incidents are alleged to have taken place at the Greenacres Caravan Site, Blairadam, near the Perth and Kinross/Fife border, on June 18, 2020.
The indictment against him alleges that he breached a bail order granted on June 19 last year, banning him from contacting his partner in any way.
But Stewart, of Old Dalkieth Colliery, Dalkeith, is said to have gone to the caravan park on July 4, 2020, and attempted to approach the woman.
The trial is expected to last two days.
