Surgical masks must be worn

-

Anyone attending NHS Tayside premises in Perth and Kinross will need to wear a fluid resistant surgical face mask (FRSM) rather than just a face covering from next week.

From Monday, March 1, all staff, outpatients and visitors to NHS Tayside facilities will be required to wear a FRSM unless they are exempt.

Anyone attending for an outpatient appointment or visiting an NHS Tayside premises should wear a FRSM instead of a fabric face covering. Masks are available at main entrances.

Claire Pearce, nurse director for NHS Tayside, said: “We are asking people to wear a FRSM instead of a fabric face covering to help ensure a safe environment and to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission within our healthcare settings.

“I would like to reassure the public that fluid resistant masks will be supplied at entrances, so they do not need to bring their own.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their co-operation in helping to protect our staff and patients.”
