“Preparation in terms of training is still pretty normal, just with added precautions and rules that we are all very used to now.
“Within 72 hours of every race we need a negative COVID PCR test and in the case of the world champs we had a schedule of testing every couple of days to keep on top of.
“Testing is really easily accessible out here in Europe, so it’s not too much of a pain and just a small price to pay to be allowed to compete at the moment.”
The next few weeks remain busy for Guest, who added: “I think considering 2020 in general, I am happy with my progress and results.
“My minimum goal was to get my Olympic qualification done and get World Cup slalom points on the board, which happened back in November.
“Since then, I’ve been a bit stop-start and missed two World Cups over Christmas as I was isolating. There are still three World Cups and three Europa Cups left on the calendar, so plenty of opportunity.
“It’s still pretty busy. And then I am so excited to get home.
“It’s going to have been a long three months away and I am missing my own bed, that is for sure.”
