I cannot wait. These games don’t come round often for us...

“Callum worked under Tommy and was already a club legend.

“I don’t think where we are in the league is a true reflection on the job he has done. We’ve not scored as many goals as our play perhaps deserved.

“It all clicked in that semi — that had been coming.”

This will be Eilidh’s third major final with Saints, and the first of her lifetime she will not be there in person.

She cites the Paul Sturrock era of the late 90s as her favourite period, but the moment Saints lifted the Scottish Cup in 2014 stands out as a perfect moment.

“I was actually working at the Scottish Cup final, but obviously I was still able to enjoy it,” she said.

“I was working for the SFA, we were doing a video for every round, starting from round one.

“To be down on the pitchside when they lifted the cup was just incredible.

“Normally I wouldn’t want to be working at a game that means so much, but it was amazing.

“When Macca (Steven MacLean) scored the second goal, I was in the corner pitchside celebrating and the security guard was looking at me like I was an idiot!”

Eilidh will be hoping there are more celebrations this weekend. In November she anchored coverage of Scotland’s Euro 2020 playoff match with Serbia, with a picture of her celebrating proving a hit with fans.

But she reckons the celebrations could be even more boisterous on Sunday.

“I was like that in the semi final — if we win the trophy, I don’t know what I’ll be like,” she laughs.

“I’m just glad there will be no cameras on me this time.”
