LABOUR - JANINE RENNIE
I have been a charity campaigner for the last thirty years and currently I am CEO of a mental health charity.
I have worked in the fields of mental health, physical health, disability, international development, substance misuse and childhood abuse.
I have a varied background as a psychologist but also an accountant and Fellow of the ACCA.
I have been interested in politics throughout my life. My interest aligns to my strong concerns about inequality and injustice. As a disabled person I am dedicated to equality issues. I was raised with the values of Scottish Labour and I am proud to be the candidate for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire.
I have worked in the area for 20 years. I will fight for the issues that matter to the people in the constituency. Rural transport is a significant issue that can restrict employment possibilities, create isolation and reduce access to services.
I have witnessed first-hand the damage to the NHS by the current government. Many people have had to wait months and even years for treatment and this has worsened during the pandemic adding to the pressure on our dedicated health workers who have been working with significantly fewer resources.
Our communities need hope for a positive future. I work with the significant mental health concerns people face daily.
People need change from the divisive politics of the past. If you vote for me you will have a friendly approachable MSP who has a track record of bringing about change.
